Amus Stevens
Founder, AltoCredit
Amus Stevens began his career in banking, where he built a strong foundation in credit, lending, and financial systems. He grew up in a household where real estate ownership and investing were part of everyday life, which gave him early exposure to how credit can create long term opportunity.
Over time, Amus recognized a major gap. It was not just access to credit that people were struggling with, but understanding how it actually works.
This led to the creation of AltoCredit.
His approach focuses on helping clients connect their credit to real life goals such as purchasing a home, securing funding, and creating financial stability. He believes that structure and consistency are key to long term results.

Erica Stevens
Co-Founder, AltoCredit
Erica Stevens studied psychology and earned her Bachelor's degree with a focus on understanding people and behavior. This led her to develop a strong interest in how people think about money and make financial decisions.
While building AltoCredit, Erica also worked in real estate in New York City. Through this experience, she helped clients navigate approvals, rentals, and home purchases, which gave her a clear understanding of how credit directly impacts opportunity.
She saw that many people were not lacking effort, but lacking clarity.
Her role in AltoCredit focuses on client experience, education, and communication. She is passionate about helping clients feel more confident and in control of their financial direction.

Brenda Leal
Credit Advisor, AltoCredit · Since August 2023
Brenda is a Mexican accountant with a background in bookkeeping and personal finance. She has been part of the AltoCredit team since August 2023.
She is passionate about helping people understand how credit works and how to build a strong, healthy credit profile. As an advisor, Brenda enjoys helping clients overcome the fear of looking at their credit reports, breaking things down in a simple way, and identifying real opportunities for improvement.
Her goal is to make credit feel less intimidating and more like a tool clients can confidently use to reach their goals. She strongly believes that financial literacy is something everyone should have — even though most people were never taught it growing up — and that's why she is committed to guiding and supporting clients every step of the way.
Proud of her Mexican heritage, Brenda is fluent in Spanish and loves connecting with people from all over the world.
Since 2014
Where It All Started
Back in 2014, we were going business to business — knocking on doors, building a network, showing up to school events, and sitting down with clients over lunch to talk about their goals. We partnered with NAHREP, worked alongside mortgage companies like Movement Mortgage and United Northern, and built relationships with community banks like Banco Popular. We have truly been a part of the Bronx community and the tri-state area from day one.

AltoCredit was built from real experience.
Amus and Erica Stevens met while working in banking, where they saw firsthand how credit impacts approvals, opportunities, and financial progress.
As their careers evolved — with Amus in banking and Erica in real estate — they noticed a consistent pattern. Many people were navigating credit without fully understanding how it works.
There was a clear learning curve, along with a lack of knowledge around credit reporting, systems, and laws.
At the same time, they saw how powerful credit could be when used correctly.
This led them to build AltoCredit as a structured system designed to help people not only improve their credit profile, but move forward with clarity and confidence.
